Engineered weeks before it is beautiful

We scout your sky
Weeks before show night we visit the venue, walk the site and sweep the airwaves, so the fleet flies in clean air.

You see the show first
Every show is choreographed from scratch in our own software, and you preview the full simulation before anything flies.

We rehearse until it is exact
The show is flown over multiple days of rehearsal at the site where it will perform, until the choreography is precise.
- 04
Two pilots, every flight
A pilot in command and a dedicated safety pilot run every performance, from launch to landing.

We closed a town's winter festival with its first ever drone light show, flying artwork designed by local school children.

That was the finale programme, chosen from a colouring competition. We gave local school kids a grid of dots and fifty to colour in, one for every drone in the fleet. The winning drawings became flight paths and flew at full scale over their own town.
Not many show formats let a seven year old put their artwork in the sky above their own town.

How we got here
From an idea to a system
2021The ideaA cleaner way to fill a sky
Research, and finding the right engineers
Councils and communities across New Zealand were turning away from fireworks: the noise, the debris, the fire risk, the toll on animals. Drone light shows were already doing that job overseas, but nobody was building the systems here. We spent the year on the research, and on finding engineers who could build one with us. By the end of it we had an agreement with SPS Automation.
2022The buildOur own aircraft and software
Designed, built and tested in New Zealand
With the partnership agreed, the build began. Existing overseas systems did not meet the safety and interactivity standards we wanted, so we started our own hardware and flight software from scratch.

A run of indoor shows across two events, and the first drone light shows in New Zealand flown on New Zealand-built hardware and software. The audience changed the colours of the fleet by hand gesture.
2024PrototypeOne system, end to end
First complete platform flown
The aircraft, the flight software and the choreography tools came together for the first time as a single system, flown end to end as a working prototype.

Three public shows closing the Feilding in Lights festival, flying artwork designed by local school children. The town's first ever drone light show, and the first time the finished system flew in front of a public crowd: everything designed and built since 2022, doing the job it was made for. Its first paid work, too.
